The project's origins...

Doug Little's apprenticeship as a maker of cases and experimenter in glass-reinforced-plastic (GRP) began not in a music environment but on the racing circuits of Europe as a panel and parts maker for the Formula 3 and Formula Ford series. Doug's company at the time was "Care4 Cases GRP" and most notably sponsored Eddie Jordan's F3 team, with Martin Brundle driving, in an epic season-long battle with Ayrton Senna in the 1983 season.

Motor-sport gave way to musical instruments and the range of cases Doug made was extensive; bagpipe and coronet cases for the Sultan Qaboos; a bodhran case for Coronation St's Eddie Yates, aka Geoff Hughes; a custom case for Brian May's "red-special" guitar (Queen); the "flying-V" case for Fat Larry; saxophone cases for Men-at-work and the special "Aston-Villa FC" violin case presented to Nigel Kenedy on the ITV show "This is your life"
